In the latest acquisition google has extended its hands on Phonetic arts-a company which is focused on speech synthesis technology. In simple words Phonetic arts makes technology that stores pre-recorded lines into a “speech library” which helps to make new sentences based on them . Aint this intresting ?? if you fed int a few lines of voice from BradPitt you can create your own sentences with his voice .
Why has google acquired phonetic arts ?
Google knows that use of speech tecnology in the web and mobiles has become far more important than it were earlier . Google has already been working on speech technology like Voice Search, Voice Input and Voice Actions for mobile phones which take in voice input . Now with phonetic arts, google will probably give its speech output a new look may be a more humanly i.e instead of robotic output , a human voice output will be delivered .
So, it pretty clear that robotic speech output is going to be replaced by human voice with the acquistion of Phonetic Arts.
