Yes, ComLuv has been a wonderful incentive for comments. I started getting a lot more once I installed it.
I personally feel that Top commentator award is the best way to get more comments…
Personally I recommend CommentLuv and Top Commentators plugin. They do the trick wonderfully, you can also conduct Top Commentators Contest.
But the most valid and genuine way for increasing comments is respecting your commentators, respecting in the sense, answering their queries and appreciating their efforts.

As a blogger we need to connect with the reader, very important to ask the reader for his opinion.One good way is to ask the reader to complete the list posts in the blog by adding the last point in the list.

It is very important to know what your reader thinks and feels, his feedback is of utmost importance.
Hence commenting should be made easier for the reader,one way of doing it is by givign him options like Good Post, Not Good, etc. so that the reader can just click and need not type.
